Rajamouli’s Curb on Piracy
Super hit director Rajamouli applies his creative ideas in film making and that’s nothing new. But he seems to apply his ideas even in stopping the video piracy that is affecting his new movie ‘Maryada Ramanna’. How’s he going about it?
According to Rajamouli, the makers of ‘Maryada Ramanna’ have hired four teams to be vigilant and to have a look at sites that show the camera ripped version of the movie. The modus operandi of these teams is that, once they spot such websites, a legal notice will be sent to them.
If such a malicious site is spotted, legal notices will be sent to remove the links of ‘Maryada Ramanna’ most likely in 24 hours. If any of the websites don’t adhere to the instructions, they would be forced to come under the cyber crime act and the site will be shut down. So far 43 links showing the movie have been removed.
But Rajamouli is worried about the 24 hours timeline. It still is a long time for thousands of people to watch the 2 hour 9 minute movie, free of cost, online. It is hard work and a lot of strenuous effort that goes behind in making a movie. Any movie is best when watched in a theatre!
